I was just watching everyone's favorite Suze Orman talk about the dive in the economy. This is an amazing event and our childrens' children will talk about this in school someday. I know that not all of you are members of our church, and I am not preaching here, but man I just had the most amazing moment. I thought of a conference address that was referenced by one of our local leaders just about a month ago. President Hinckley gave a talk to the church and said that even though he was not forecasting anything catastrophic, he told us all that he was very impressed to tell all of us to get our houses in order. The church has always taught self sufficiency. No debt, a years supply of food, a 72 hour disaster preparedness kit, and at least 6 months salary in savings. This address was a couple of years ago. If we were doing what he asked us all to do, this turn of events in the economy would not have had the impact on us that it is having on so many. I have to say that I was so impressed that what he was saying was true.
I am feeling thankful that we have heeded this advice for the most part, and while we have some work to do, I am grateful that we are not in worse shape.
I had to write this down because it hit me so strongly. If everyone had followed this counsel, there would not be a crisis like this to even be talking about. What an amazing time we are living in.......

BUNNIES.........
We have boys in the Dendy house-wow. The girls wanted a dog and after deciding that we weren't quite ready to take that step, we decided that miniature lop bunnies would be a better bet for us. We found a breeder in the Dallas area who breeds miniature Holland lop bunnies. They are pedigreed from a great line of show Hollands and they are very sweet. We picked a broken blue buck and a solid blue buck. The broken blue is McKay's and she named him Obi after Obi Wan Kenobi (We saw all 6 Star Wars movies on our staycation this summer). Alexa's is the solid blue and she named him Beau after my childhood dog. They are only 6 weeks old and we picked them up from the breeder on Labor Day. We found them two weeks ago, but we couldn't buy them until they were 6wks old. We are hopefully going to be able to litter box train them and keep them in the mudroom in two cages. We will see how it goes.
The girls just started school last week also and man I can't believe that the girls are getting so old. McKay is in 5th grade, Alexa is in 3rd and Grace is starting inclusion in Kindergarten with her PPCD class. This is their last year in the same school together.
This will be a fun year...I am sure we will have lots of adventures.

Holy Cow! A New Entry!!!!!!!
I can't believe it has been 4 months since I last wrote! Man what a crazy summer. We moved into our new home on May 24 and spent the summer getting settled. Between the new home and $4 gas, we did the "staycation" this summer. We went to Six Flags and the girls went on their first really big ride The Titan. Alexa did not like it. McKay loved it. Poor little Alexa couldn't even lift her little head up the g's were so strong on her tiny neck. McKay went on every big ride on the park after that and Alexa stuck to the safe stuff. We took Jenny with us since her husband Forest doesn't like amusement parks. We all had fun despite the heat. We all came out pretty much unscathed except for poor Jenny who lost her lunch after the very last ride :-).
I am finally attaching a good photo of our new home without a van in front.
I have been telling myself to do that for four months now. Boy am I glad I don't procrastinate......
